Talking Trade Interview with Damon Holter
In this latest edition of "Talking Trade," Damon Holter, the owner of Croix Valley Foods, delves into the company's rich history, remarkable successes, and ambitious plans for future expansion. Operating from a spacious 20,000-square-foot facility in Hudson, Croix Valley specializes in producing a variety of delectable products, including barbecue sauces, steak sauces, marinades, dry rubs, and bloody mary seasonings.
Damon emphasizes Croix Valley's performance both within the U.S. and overseas. Faced with fierce competition and slim margins in the grocery industry, we have strategically ventured into international markets with the help of the Canadian distributor Lumberjack Pellets. This led us to explore opportunities in the hardware and home improvement sectors, wherever grills and grilling accessories were being sold. The success in the Canadian market inspired us to pivot our U.S. operations in the same direction, resulting in significant business growth.
Lastly, Damon discusses our active involvement in professional barbecue and steak competitions across various countries, which plays a vital role in penetrating new markets in Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America. Building strong relationships with like-minded cooking enthusiasts and competitors globally has contributed to our remarkable growth journey.
